Our Director Luke started with us in July 2008. Luke’s background is in education, with vast experience in the Independent sector in Adelaide and the United Kingdom. After directing his own education consultancy MOTIV8 Enterprises, Luke moved into the field of politics, working with the Commonwealth Government to develop policy around safe partying and substance abuse.
Luke is happily married to his gorgeous wife Naomi and is building a home in the Adelaide Hills. Luke spends his free time supporting his beloved Essendon Football Club, running on the beach with his black Labrador Oscar, travelling and exploring new and exciting places, socializing and creating masterpieces in the kitchen.

Renee Mumford
Volunteer Coordinator
Our Volunteer Coordinator Renee started at Encounter Youth in 2007. Renee’s background is in education, teaching in regional SA and in metro Adelaide. With a desire to pursue her passion for working with church communities, tackling the response to young people and the safe use of substances, Renee took up her current role with Encounter Youth.
When she isn’t working with Encounter Youth’s 500 volunteers, Renee spends the rest of her time working with her church on a number of exciting projects. Renee loves jet setting around Australia to hang out with friends and pursue her quest of finding the quirkiest cafés in Oz!
Amie-Jade Ritchie
Education Coordinator
Our Education Coordinator Amie-Jade joined Encounter Youth in 2007 where she heads up the expanding Education Project. After running her own hip hop dance and youth consultancy, Amie-Jade worked developing engaging and effective alcohol and other drug educational programs for SA’s young people. Amie-Jade is passionate about embracing young peoples’ potential, leadership development and most of all partying hard and partying safely!
Amie-Jade loves to have fun, hitting the dance floor whenever she can and enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is a member of an exciting emerging church community in Adelaide’s CBD and enjoys travelling adventures and anything creative.
Jessica O’Connor
Office Manager
Our Office Manager Jessica works with the Encounter Youth team, managing the team’s finance and office procedures. Jess is passionate about supporting young people and excited to see them achieve their full potential.
Jessica is engaged to the love of her life and in the midst of planning her wedding. Jessica manages the finances for the Adelaide Hills Christian Outreach Centre, where she is involved in running a dance ministry. Through dance, Jessica is passionate about making a mark on her community for the positive.
