Encounter Youth mobilises over 700 Christian volunteers to serve in local communities facing serious social challenges. We  aim to provide a direct relief from harm and create safer environments in collaboration with emergency services, community groups, councils, the state government, local traders and the public. Our volunteers are known as the Encounter Youth Green Team, and can be identified by their bright green uniform and cheery, passionate attitudes.

The current Green Team volunteering opportunities on offer are through our management of the annual South Australia Schoolies Operation held at Victor Harbor (which includes Schoolies Festival™) and our Hindley Street Program.

A group of green team volunteersGreen Team volunteers are motivated by their Christian faith as they serve with Encounter Youth. They have the endorsement of their Christian community. Encounter Youth  provides one of the largest opportunities in South Australia where a unified multi-denominational community of Christians come together to practically express their faith by caring for and serving others.

Green Team volunteers receive engaging training from the experienced Encounter Youth team, as well as other professionals like the South Australia Police.

Volunteering in the Encounter Youth Green Team offers the opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of young people facing serious social challenges. Whilst the situations we enter can be demanding, the Green Team volunteer community is a supportive and caring environment desiring to see you develop in all areas of your life.
