Hindley Street Program, Encounter Youth

A LIGHTER NIGHT

‘A Lighter Night’ is a positive engagement campaign developed by Encounter Youth to reduce risky levels of drinking. Encounter Youth recognises that most campaigns aiming to reduce risky levels of drinking focus on raising awareness of the negative impact excessive drinking can have. ‘A Lighter Night’ endeavours to give young people reasons and tools to reduce risky levels of drinking, rather than simply telling them it is risky.

To promote this campaign to Hindley Street patrons, Green Team volunteers also regularly engage with young people on the corner of Hindley & Morphett Street, with a pop-up photo booth, free bottled water and free food. Wristbands are given out to each participant, which directs them to the ‘A Lighter Night’ Facebook page to find their photo and further interact with the campaign.

During the warmer months, look out for our ‘A Lighter Night’ photobooth on the corner of Hindley and Morphett Streets.

Bring your friends to get a free photo strip, some free food, free bottled water, a free wristband and be sure to like our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/alighternight to have a look for your photos!

Part of the A Lighter Night campaign is to encourage people to know their limits and to drink a little less alcohol. Why? Well…

A Lighter Night Photobooth, Encounter Youth
  • You’ll have more money in your back pocket at the end of the night.
  • Your body will thank you, especially the next day.
  • You will be a better mate in a time of need.

Enjoy A Lighter Night and capture your memories at the photobooth!
