Nigel Knowles - Chief Executive Officer
Nigel has been in this role since 2009. He passionately leads Encounter Youth as it continues to grow as a cutting edge organisation, that impacts the lives of young people. Nigel is motivated to see more young people educated and empowered to make positive choices whilst navigating the increasing social pressures in the community. Nigel loves to spend his free time gardening with his beautiful wife Kate, road cycling, and watching the latest movies.
Andrew Scholefield - Education Manager
Kimberly Price - Education Manager (Casual)
Kimberly is our Education Manager (Casual) and is responsible for developing and presenting our dynamic Party Safe Education™ program in schools and community groups. Kim is passionate about taking a holistic approach to alcohol and other drug education and values that we also equip parents and teachers to have effective conversations with their young people. She enjoys utilising her teaching skills and AOD research to develop our content to be effective for young people and to support the implementation of the Australian curriculum. In her spare time, Kim loves playing netball and watching footy, as well kayaking and fishing.
Jess Morris - Programs Manager
Jess has been working with Encounter Youth since 2010. Her role has a focus on developing our team of Project & Volunteer Managers to successfully manage and deliver all of our volunteer programs. Her strategic planning and communication skills coupled with her experience within Encounter Youth makes her a great fit for this role. She feels honoured to be a part of the team working together to positively impact the young people of South Australia. Jess spends her free time drinking coffee, playing netball and watching Netflix.
Stephanie Hartley - Project & Volunteer Manager
Stephanie is one of our Project & Volunteer Managers within the Schoolies Operation. Stephanie’s role has a focus on managing the Schoolies Festival™, the surrounding public streets and developing volunteers to serve in unique ways. This includes being responsible for the recruitment, training and empowerment of Encounter Youth’s volunteers known as the Green Team. In her spare time Stephanie is known to enjoy a good computer game session, cheer on her NBA team of choice the Chicago Bulls or settle in for a good knitting club meeting.
Anna Abbott - Project & Volunteer Manager
Anna is one of our Project & Volunteer Managers within the Schoolies Operation. Her role includes a focus on the partnerships with accommodation providers to continually improve the safety of school leavers during their celebration, as well as managing the Free MAC Schoolies Festival™ Bus service. Anna is also responsible for the recruitment, training and empowerment of Encounter Youth’s volunteers known as the Green Team. In her spare time Anna likes being outdoors and adventuring. Even more so if it’s in the sunshine, accompanied by a milkshake.
Deana Brine - Project & Volunteer Manager
Deana is our Project & Volunteer Manager for the Street Programs. She is responsible for developing and maintaining our community and corporate stakeholder relationships in this space, as well as the management of the incredible Green Team Hindley Street volunteer body. Deana is continually blown away by the impact that our volunteers are having on Hindley Street and is dedicated to enhancing the campaign that encourages young people to make a stand against binge drinking with the message, “Drink a little less, have a lighter night.” She loves spending her free time op shopping, cooking up a storm, drinking good coffee and cheering on the Power at the footy.
Alecia Curran - Partnerships & Communication Manager
Alecia is responsible for managing our corporate sponsorships, partnerships and communication approach for Encounter Youth. She enjoys working alongside sponsors to help them form a meaningful connection with young people at Schoolies Festival™, our Party Safe Education™ program in schools and our weekly Hindley Street Program. Her drive to deliver on key objectives, care in formulating strategies and commitment to communication make her a real asset to our sponsors. If given the choice, Alecia would probably move the office to the beach as she loves the ocean and exploring the coastline. She also likes a hit of tennis and dining out on Thai food.
Warren Bradley - Communication Officer
Warren is our Communication Officer and he is responsible for developing the profile and communication of Encounter Youth. He enjoys relating to people and utilising new methods to effectively engage them with our work in the community. Another one of his key roles is supporting the Partnerships and Communication Manager in developing our existing sponsorships and partnerships. Warren brings a diverse set of skills to our team including his extensive background in photography/videography and a firm grasp of design programs. In his free time, Warren loves traveling and finding new places to get lost in, hiking and riding his motorbike.
Natalie Smith - Business Manager
Natalie uses her administrative and finance skills to support the work of Encounter Youth. She loves the opportunity to equip the staff team, as well as the volunteers, allowing them to focus less on admin and more on making impact in the lives of young people. She is such an asset to our organisation & is a real problem solver. Outside of the office, Nat fills her time hanging out with friends, drinking coffee, or getting lost in a good book.
Sophie Anthony - Administration Officer
Sophie’s role is to support the Business Manager and Encounter Youth staff with all things administration and finance. She is the first point of contact in the office and feels privileged to be apart of Encounter Youth and able to use the skills she has learnt to impact our community in such an awesome way. In her spare time, Sophie loves to play many a game of netball; morning runs on the beach or indulge in a Star Wars marathon with a family sized bag of crispy MnM’s.
