Celebrating 25 Years of the Safest Schoolies in Australia!
Encounter Youth will celebrate its 25th year of Schoolies Festival™ with the class of 2023 this weekend.
Encounter Youth, a not-for-profit charity, has led the state response to managing the annual schoolies celebration in Victor Harbor for twenty-five years.
Nigel Knowles, CEO of Encounter Youth, is proud to be part of an organisation that has led the way in Australia for managing the safest schoolies gathering in the country.
“Encounter Youth has pioneered the method of managing a schoolies gathering by providing a celebration for Year 12s to celebrate their end of schooling in a fun but safe way.
“We work year-round to coordinate the planning and resourcing of the management response with key government and non-government agencies including South Australian Police, SA Ambulance, St John’s Ambulance and the City of Victor Harbor.
“It is a unique operation, and we are still the only non-government led schoolies response in Australia.”
Underpinning all the planning and preparation is the huge number of volunteers Encounter Youth coordinate, affectionately known as the Green Team.
The Encounter Youth Green Team is the reason South Australian Schoolies are the best supported in the country.
Over 400 Encounter Youth Green Team volunteers will once again be on hand to run the Schoolies Festival™ and support them in celebrating safely.
To mark the 25-year milestone, Schoolies Festival™ 2023 will be a special carnival celebration unlike any other year!
“We are creating a carnival atmosphere to celebrate 25 years of leading the best schoolies celebration in Australia.”
The Class of 2023 will enjoy carnival attractions not seen before at Schoolies Festival™, including two huge rides, arcade games and activities, along with classic carnival treats like popcorn.
The Class of 2023 is encouraged to also book their seat on the Free Schoolies Festival™ Bus Service, sponsored by the Government of South Australia, THINK! Road Safety Partnerships Program. The bus service gets the Class of 2023 to the Schoolies Festival™ in Victor Harbor and returns them to Adelaide afterwards.
The Free Schoolies Festival™ Bus Service, sponsored by the Government of South Australia, THINK! Road Safety Partnerships Program, will also be operating throughout the weekend providing continuous shuttle services for all ticket holders during the hours of the festival and 2-day runs at 10am and 2pm.
Schoolies Festival™ 2023 will be held over three nights from Friday, 17th November to Sunday, 19th November 2023 in Warland Reserve, Victor Harbor.
